Seeking Knowledge

Safwan ibn ‘Assal al-Muradi came to the Prophet (S.A.W.) in the mosque and said, “O Messenger of Allah, I have come seeking knowledge.”The Prophet (S.A.W.) told him:

“Welcome, O seeker of knowledge! Truly the angels surround the seeker of knowledge with their wings, gathering around him in ranks one above the other, until they reach the first heaven, out of love for that which he seeks.”

Narrated By Ahmad Al- Tabarani, Ibn Hibban Al–Hakim.

Dua for concentration

“Salla-allahu alaa Muhammad wa aal-e Muhammad. Allahumma inni as’aluka yaa mudhakkira-l khayr wa faa’ilahu wa-l-aamimira bihi dhakir-ni maa ansaani-hi-shaytan.”

“Blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad and his progeny. O Allah, I ask you, the one who mentions goodness and actualizes it and commands it, remind me of that which the shaytan makes me forget.”

Insyallah, as a muslim, we have the most powerful weapon which is dua to Allah SWT….

Bye Malaysia…

Wallahu’lam 🙂

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful and peace be to the Prophet Sallahua’laihiwasalam, his family, and companions.

Remembering names are very important since it would be a very good start in creating a great relationships. What would you feel if someone talks to you and pronouncing your your name? It surely brings out the sense of closeness, the feeling as if you are important to the person.

But to memorize someone’s name could be very hard. Here are some tips I’ve extracted from the book “At-Thariq ilal Qulub” by Shiekh Abbas Hassan As-Siisi:

  1. You must have the interest and high desire to memorize names of the people you meet. (Could be for the purpose of spreading love and the deen)
  2. When introducing each other, try to memorize your friends name and use it as frequently as possible at that instant                                                                                                            . http://gotivo.com/video_pic/1UPIN%2520DAN%2520IPIN).jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
  3. Name usually consist of the surname and the family name. Usually people love when called with their surname. But please try to identify the name that he/she love to be called
  4. Try to relate the name with other people that have the same name. For example, the Sahabah(peace be upon them) or your other friends.
  5. When introducing each other, try also to memorize his/her faces and conditions Do check weather there’s beard, the colour of his/her skin, the place of the meeting, his/her occupation. etc… Quite important, please remember the environment where the meeting takes place, and for what reasons.http://www.andrewbostom.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/tariq_ramadan_200.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
  6. To boost up the memorization, do write the name somewhere, in your handphone(take his/her number), yahoo messenger, emails etc… Do keep in touch with the person and you meet the person again, do call their name..                                                                                            . http://bp1.blogger.com/_OKBxhWL794k/SEj6we2WkzI/AAAAAAAAAho/eXLq3_A91M4/s400/YM.png” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
  7. If you meet the person again, please remember the meetings you had before and also the first meeting.
  8. Knowing someone would open the door of knowing more people for instance his/her friends.               .http://www.clipartof.com/images/clipart/xsmall2/15456_unsuspecting_blue_man_shaking_hands_on_a_deal_with_another_man_as_a_saw_cuts_a_circle_out_from_under_him.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Hmm, I think I am not the best person in explaining this topic since I myself quite frequently forgets the names of the people I meet. Insyallah I hope all of us would try as hard as we can to memorize of friends name.

Rasulullah SAW said,

“Termasuk sifat angkuh adalah seseorang yang masuk ke dalam rumah temannya, lalu disuguhkan kepadanya makanan, ia tidak mahu memakannya; dan seorang laki-laki yang bersama-sama dengan laki-laki lain dalam perjalanan, tetapi ia tidak menanyakan namanya dan nama orang tuanya.” (HR. Ad-Dailami)

(sorry cant find the English translation)

“Ya Allah, The Almighty, The Originator of all knowledge, please give us strength to memorizing the names of Your creations, Your servants. Ameen”

Wallahu’lam
